Le Sauze Super Sauze is a small resort that has grown up around an existing Alpine village.
Several waymarked walks start from the resort centre which houses restaurants, bars and shops.
In summer, one of the ski-lifts provides access to a toboggan run and another climbs directly up the mountain to 1700m, from where footpaths lead still higher and on to the high-altitude restaurants.
Le Sauze Super Sauze is situated about four kilometres from Barcelonnette.
Perched on the mountainside below the magnificent peaks of the « Chapeau de Gendarme » and the « Pain du Sucre », Le Sauze Super Sauze is a perfect base for all kinds of outdoor activities.
The resort centre is surrounded by alpine meadows which in late spring and early summer are covered in flowers.
There are a large number of hikes that start in, or close to, Le Sauze Super Sauze and families with children will find plenty of other entertainment including summer bob-sleigh rides, trampolines and swimming.
